New union representatives
Following the union elections held on January 27 at the Lauda Europe workplace located at Palma Airport, the candidate list presented by Som Sindicalistes Balears obtained 2 representatives.
SOM views this result very positively, especially considering that both the union section and the candidate list were formed with little time in advance. Thanks to the work, effort, and enthusiasm of our colleagues, these two delegates were elected out of a total of 9 seats on the works council.
None of the three unions (SEPLA, USO and SOM) represented on the works council hold an absolute majority, which means they will need to negotiate in order to reach agreements that benefit the workforce. For this reason, SOM’s newly elected delegates at Lauda will play an important role.
